This weeks Tuesdays with Dorie was chosen by Tommi of Brown Interior. She selected Dorie’s Honey-Peach Ice Cream which is located on page 437 of Baking: From My Home to Yours. I LOVE peach ice cream. As a kid when my parents or my grandparents would ask me what type of ice cream I wanted, I would always ask for peach. I also LOVE fresh peaches, but it isn’t currently prime peach season here yet so I had to settle for some not so ripe peaches. (more…)

Peach Almond Tart August 14, 2008
I saw this recipe about a month ago when I was reading Ivonne’s blog, Cream Puff In Venice. As soon as I saw the picture I knew that I was going to have to make this tart. First thing I thought was if good quality peaches were available. The next was that I needed a square tart pan. After a month went by I procured a peck of fresh from the orchard peaches and stop by Williams Sonoma and picked up a square tart pan.

Peachy Peachy Muffin Goodness July 18, 2008
For the past couple of days I have been searching through all of my cookbooks to find recipes to use the peaches that I bought from the Berry Farm Market. Of course almost every book contain something like a peach pie or cobbler, but I wanted something different that I haven’t made yet. My favorite peach anything that I have ever had was a peach scone from a local cafe back in college. Anytime I could get my hands on one I would buy a peach scone and have a cup of peppermint tea and people watch. It was the best thing in the world. It was the perfect texture with chunks of peaches and flecks of oats throughout. Man, I need to recreate that recipe. Maybe one day. (more…)
